UCA and Junta start the works of the El Olivillo Business Transfer Center

With a budget of € 4,272,440, they have a lead time of 14 months

 

At the end of July, the University of Cadiz awarded the work of the El Olivillo Business Transfer Center project to Sando for a net amount of € 4,272,440 (plus VAT) as this is the most advantageous offer of all presented. With a maximum execution period of 14 months, the intervention is co-financed by FEDER within the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI), managed, in this case, by the regional government of the Andalusian Government. European investment funds that plan to remodel the building to accommodate a space of convergence between companies and universities, whose objective is to boost industrial and business sectors from innovation, as well as support for entrepreneurs.

 

 

The Rector of the University of Cadiz, who thanked the work of the Andalusian Government and the Vice-Rectorates of Technology Transfer and Innovation and of Heritage and Infrastructures as well as all the staff of UCA involved, underlined that the beginning of this is the first project of the ITI initiative that becomes a reality “. This is so, he pointed out, because “words are proven with facts” and because UCA had “the task ahead”. At the same time, he stressed that it is “an intense and exciting work” driven “from a double commitment: to include the project within the ITI so that knowledge is transferred to companies and generate development in the province and also commitment to the territory”.

 

 

The El Olivillo building occupies a plot of 1,551 m2, with 4.150 m2 built and distributed in basement and five floors. The Business Transfer Center will host support and consultancy services for innovation and territorial development (legal advice on innovation for companies, consultancy on R&D&I, management of innovation projects and technological advice, European Projects Office, Transfer Office of Research Results -OTRI-, Office of Business Practices and Employment, as well as the UCA external chairs); Engineering and Design Technologies, Development and Simulation of Industrial Products and Processes, Non Destructive Testing, Intelligent, Environmental and Industrial Processes and Monitoring, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Robotics, Renewable Marine Energies, Development and Design of Agri-Food and Algae Biotechnology), Support services for entrepreneurs (nursery for Technology-Based Enterprises -EBT- and innovative companies, support service for entrepreneurs and dependencies of the Center for Support to Business Development – CADE- of the Andalusian Government, as well as the R&D&i office of the Confederation of Cadiz Entrepreneurs -CEC- and Common Services (administrative and technical support units and use of facilities).
