Inauguración de exposición de tejidos WAX 25 June 2021

Uno de los objetivos que persigue esta exposición es visibilizar el trabajo que desde el departamento de Filología Francesa e Inglesa se hace en la Universidad de Cádiz, especialmente en relación a la escritura y cultura africana.

 

La Universidad de Cádiz cuenta desde hace muchos años con un grupo de investigadoras que centran su actividad en estudios sobre literatura africana y todo lo que a ello le rodea. Entre los trabajos que están realizando en la actualidad, se están analizando los tejidos wax como una forma de descifrar o descodificar la cultura del continente negro, ubicado a escasos 14 kilómetros de nuestra provincia a través del Estrecho de Gibraltar. Hasta el momento se han estudiado 300 tejidos y nuestra idea es reflejar este trabajo en una muestra de carácter itinerante.

 

Esta muestra refleja de forma cuidada, elegante y atractiva los resultados más importantes de esta investigación.
