University of Cádiz Launches Development Cooperation Missions Grants for Administrative and Service Staff

The University of Cádiz, through its Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation, has opened a call for applications for University Development Cooperation Missions (CUD) grants aimed at Technical, Management, Administrative and Service Staff (PTGAS) for 2026. The initiative seeks to promote the internationalisation of university staff, encourage the exchange of knowledge and best practices with partner organisations, and strengthen their involvement in international development cooperation projects.

The call reflects the University’s institutional commitment to development cooperation and social responsibility, in line with Article 30 of Spain’s Organic Law 2/2023 on the University System. Through these missions, participants will gain first-hand insight into the realities and needs of communities in countries considered priorities for Spanish development cooperation, while working directly with non-governmental development organisations linked to the University of Cádiz.

The programme has a budget of €5,200, funded by the University’s own resources. This funding will support two mobility grants of €2,600 each for participation in cooperation projects in Guatemala and Bolivia.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to join the project “We Are What We Eat: Living in Sustainable and Healthy Communities in Guatemala”, coordinated by the Paz y Bien Association. They may also take part in the project “Identity Support for Children at Risk of Social Exclusion in Bolivia”, promoted by the NGO COOPERAND amb Latinoamérica.

In addition to collaborating in the activities carried out by the partner organisations, the missions aim to foster new avenues of cooperation between the University of Cádiz and social organisations through the analysis of challenges and needs identified during the placements.

As part of their commitment, grant recipients will be required to carry out a dissemination activity within the University of Cádiz upon their return. These activities may include information campaigns aimed at PTGAS staff, the production of outreach materials, contributions to institutional blogs and social media channels, or the organisation of talks and workshops to share the knowledge and experience gained during the mission.

The call is open to Technical, Management, Administrative and Service Staff of the University of Cádiz, whether on permanent or temporary contracts, provided that their employment relationship with the institution remains in force until the completion of the mission. Each applicant may submit only one application.

Placements in the destination countries must last a minimum of one week and a maximum of four weeks. Applicants must also complete any specific training required by the partner organisation and destination associated with their chosen project.

The implementation period for the missions will remain open until 31 October 2026, while grant reports and supporting documentation must be submitted between 1 and 8 November 2026.

Applications may be submitted from the publication date of the call until 7 June 2026 through the University’s CAU system, together with the required supporting documentation.
