UCA Launches a New Edition of atrÉBT! 2026 to Promote Knowledge Transfer and University Innovation 18 May 2026
The call, endowed with more than €20,000 in prizes, will remain open from 11 to 18 May and includes six participation categories
The University of Cádiz, through its Vice-Rectorate for Entrepreneurship and Employability, has launched a new edition of the atrÉBT! awards, a long-standing initiative within the institution that this year reaches its 18th edition with the aim of continuing to promote knowledge transfer, innovation and entrepreneurial culture within the university environment.
The call will distribute more than €20,000 in prizes thanks to the collaboration of sponsoring and partner organisations. Applications may be submitted between 11 and 18 May.
The initiative is supported by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer and seeks to facilitate the transition towards an entrepreneurial and socially committed university, encouraging stronger connections between the knowledge generated at UCA and its practical application in society.
This year’s edition is mainly sponsored by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium and the Cádiz Provincial Council through the Dipuinnova+ programme. Additional sponsoring organisations include the Social Council of the University of Cádiz, Verinsur, INIBICA, the Navantia UCA Chair and the CEI·Mar Foundation.
Since its first edition in 2007, the atrÉBT! awards have aimed to foster entrepreneurial spirit among researchers and to encourage the creation of companies capable of transferring to society the knowledge generated by research groups at the University of Cádiz.
Among the programme’s general objectives are the promotion of entrepreneurial culture, support for the creation of new companies, increasing the socioeconomic impact of research and knowledge transfer, and generating qualified employment opportunities and new high value-added economic activities with growth potential.
The 18th edition of atrÉBT! includes six different participation categories. These include atrÉBT! SPINOFF and atrÉBT! IPR, specifically aimed at initiatives emerging from UCA research groups; the atrÉBT! TESIS and atrÉBT! TFG/TFM categories, focused on young researchers and students; and the classic atrÉBT! and atrÉBT! HUMAN categories, aimed at entrepreneurs in general.
Finalist ideas and projects will be evaluated based on the documentation submitted. In addition, the promoters of the finalist projects will be required to present and defend their proposals before the jury. The winning initiatives will be announced during the final atrÉBT! Gala.
Interested participants can consult the full terms and conditions of the call on the official atrÉBT! website.
