The University of Cádiz takes part in ELECAM Experience Week 2026, a key event for industrial and energy innovation

Researchers and students from the University of Cádiz strengthen ties with industry at a forum focused on energy transition and technological innovation

The University of Cádiz has been taking part since Wednesday in ELECAM Experience Week 2026, an event that brings together professionals, companies and organisations linked to the industrial, naval and renewable energy sectors until 17 April. The forum is being held at the ELECAM CPI Building, located within the Zona Franca industrial area in Cádiz.

The opening session featured Alberto Pérez, CEO of Elecam Group, alongside Carmen Camelo, Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship and Employability at the University of Cádiz, the Mayor of Cádiz, Bruno García, and the State Delegate for the Zona Franca, Francisco González.

The University of Cádiz is participating in this initiative through the Vice-Rectorate for Entrepreneurship and Employability, specifically via the Directorate-General for Industry Relations and Knowledge Transfer. Its involvement includes an exhibition space and the active participation of its teaching and research staff in a series of round tables held throughout the event. These sessions address key topics such as the energy transition, the digitalisation of electrical systems and efficiency in the naval sector—areas in which the University contributes specialised knowledge and research expertise.

This participation is complemented by the presence of students from technical degree programmes, who have the opportunity to engage with leading companies, gain insight into labour market demands and establish professional connections in an environment focused on employability and knowledge transfer.

ELECAM Experience Week 2026 is conceived as a multidisciplinary meeting point bringing together experts from the naval sector, auxiliary industry, technical engineering and clean energy fields. Its aim is to foster knowledge exchange, promote technological innovation and generate new opportunities for collaboration. The event features more than 1,000 square metres of exhibition space and the participation of around thirty multinational manufacturers, with an expected attendance of over 1,500 professionals and students.

In this context, the event contributes to strengthening Cádiz as a strategic hub for industrial innovation, where initiatives such as Blue Core, promoted by the Zona Franca, act as driving forces connecting talent, industry and technological development, as highlighted during the opening session.

Furthermore, “the participation of the University of Cádiz in this forum reinforces our role as an active agent in knowledge transfer and in building synergies with the business sector, demonstrating our commitment to initiatives that contribute to industrial development and innovation in the region,” as highlighted by the Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship and Employability at the UCA, Carmen Camelo.

Over the course of these days, the programme is structured around three thematic sessions focused on renewable energy, electrical installations, and the naval and offshore industry, combining technological exhibitions, technical presentations, demonstrations and networking spaces that allow participants to address the main challenges facing the sector and move forward in developing innovative solutions.
