The University of Cadiz is the main venue for the afternoon activities of the IX International Congress of the Spanish Language. 17 March 2023

The University of Cadiz is the main venue for the afternoon activities of the IX International Congress of the Spanish Language.

Most of the afternoon sessions of March 28, 29 and 30 have been distributed by the centers of the Campus of Cadiz. Specialists of the UCA have participated in the panels on ‘America and the writers of Cadiz’ and ‘Linguistic creativity of the carnival’.

The University of Cadiz has promoted and supported from the very beginning the candidacy of the city of Cadiz as the venue for the IX International Congress of the Spanish Language (CILE). For this reason, it comes as no surprise that the University of Cadiz has been involved in the logistics and support for the organization of a first class international event. The dissemination and diffusion of knowledge and culture are part of the mission and vision of the UCA. Thus, it has been developing, from the University Extension service of the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and over the past months, a work of accompaniment to the work of the organizing institutions to the point of becoming the headquarters of most of the activities scheduled during the afternoons and manage the registration process of the congress, through the Celama platform.

Although the Congress Palace of Cadiz has concentrated the activity in the mornings, the baton has clearly passed to the UCA in the second part of the day, since the extensive program of panels planned has been developed in the afternoons in different centers and buildings of the Campus of Cadiz: Constitution 1812 building, University College and faculties of Economics and Business, Medicine and Philosophy and Letters, mainly. In this way, 32 of the 35 panels included in the  programación académica of the IX International Congress of the Spanish Language have been deployed in the afternoon sessions of March 28, 29 and 30, making the University of Cadiz the main venue for the activities.
