The UCA expands its supercomputer to undertake digital transformation in the field of intensive computing

 

The University of Cadiz is immersed in a transversal strategy of digital transformation of all its processes. In this context and in order to advance in this objective, the performance of its supercomputer has been expanded to undertake with guarantees the digital transformation in the field of intensive computing, making it, in this way, in line with the most powerful of our university system. The new system is 675% more powerful, going from 15.4 to 104 TFlops, trillions of operations per second. All researchers with current accounts will receive instructions for use in a few days.

Once the necessary installation works were completed, the extension of the supercomputer of the University of Cadiz was put into operation. At the end of the project EQC2019-005447-P, financed with FEDER funds, and endowed with a total of 545,293.03 €, the Information Systems area of the Vice-rectorate of Digitalization and Infrastructures of the UCA has completed the third phase of the implementation of supercomputing.
