The UCA community takes centre stage in a four-campus video launching the university’s Christmas campaign

El nuevo vídeo de Navidad recorre los cuatro campus y, en clave de humor, juega con posibles nombres para referirse a la comunidad universitaria mientras pone en valor la vida cotidiana de la Universidad de Cádiz

The University of Cádiz has launched its Christmas campaign with a video that, in a dynamic and engaging way, poses a simple yet thought-provoking question: what should we call ourselves as a community? Conceived and produced by the Directorate General for Strategic Communication as a light-hearted exchange of suggestions and opinions, the video uses this question as a narrative thread to showcase the diversity of university life across the different campuses. The video is available at the following link.

This piece marks the beginning of the University of Cádiz’s Christmas campaign, an initiative aimed at strengthening internal communication while also projecting a warm and approachable image to the wider community. The video takes viewers on a tour through the campuses of Puerto Real, Cádiz, Jerez and Bahía de Algeciras, highlighting everyday spaces such as classrooms, sports facilities, faculty buildings, cafeterias and the UCA-SEA Innovation Centre at the Algeciras Lago Marítimo.

Through everyday scenes and playful references to the ongoing “referendum” on the preferred name for the university community (voting available at this link), the video blends humour with recognition of the people who give life to the institution. Students, technical staff, administrative and service personnel (PTGAS) and teaching staff all take part, lending their voices and faces to the plurality that characterises the UCA. The light-hearted search for the most fitting adjective serves as a pretext to portray an active, diverse and territorially rooted university that appeals to a sense of closeness, complicity and shared pride.

The recording also includes the participation of Almudena de la Montaña, journalist at Onda Cádiz, as a nod from the University to the city and its people.

This video is the first instalment of a two-phase initiative designed to strengthen the sense of belonging to the UCA. This initial piece introduces, with humour, several naming proposals and provides a snapshot of university life from multiple perspectives and settings. A second video will be released later, continuing the story and completing the message, inviting the university community to discover its conclusion.

With a playful tone and without revealing all the clues just yet, the video sends a friendly wink to everyone who forms part of the University of Cádiz and encourages viewers to stay tuned for the second instalment—and to recognise themselves in a story that reflects how we live, share and embody the many names that shape the UCA spirit.
