The Muy Interesante Foundation and the University of Cádiz Reach an Agreement to Promote Science Communication

The collaboration will enable the publication of up to 30 articles on the magazine’s website over one year, as well as the inclusion of one research piece in its print edition.

The University of Cádiz and the Fundación Muy Interesante have reached an agreement aimed at strengthening science communication and public outreach, with the goal of bringing the results and advances of research carried out at the university closer to society.

Through this collaboration, researchers from the University of Cádiz will be able to publish science communication articles on the website of the magazine Muy Interesante, thereby enhancing the visibility, social impact and knowledge transfer of the research conducted at the institution.

The agreement, formalised through the General Directorate for Strategic Communication of the University of Cádiz, will allow the publication of up to 30 outreach articles on the magazine’s website over a one-year period. In addition, the foundation will select one of the published articles for inclusion in the print edition of the magazine.

This initiative opens a new channel for researchers to share the results of their work with a broader audience, through outreach content that will be edited and supervised by the professional team of the foundation.

The articles, which will be published under ISSN, must be written in clear and accessible language. Contributions may be based on research results, scientific publications or methodological developments, provided they demonstrate clear social relevance.

Information session for researchers

To explain the details of the agreement and the selection and editorial process for the articles, an online information session will be held on Tuesday, 3 March, at 10:30 a.m.

The session will feature Mario Sánchez, Head of Institutional Relations, and Rubén Buren, Director of Academic Content at the Fundación Muy Interesante, who will present the collaboration framework and answer questions from attendees.

For those unable to attend the live session, a recording will later be made available on the website of the General Directorate for Strategic Communication of the University of Cádiz.

This agreement is independent of the collaboration that the University of Cádiz maintains with The Conversation, which remains in force and has recently been renewed and expanded for the next five years.

Both initiatives reinforce the UCA’s commitment to science communication, helping to improve the communication, visibility and digital positioning of its research activity, while also strengthening recognition of the social impact of scientific production.

The Fundación Muy Interesante, created in 2024, aims to promote the social transfer of knowledge, bringing science, research and innovation closer to the public in a rigorous, accessible and engaging way. The organisation forms part of the Spanish-language science communication ecosystem and acts as a bridge between the research community and the general public.
