The UCA has launched the ‘Deja tu huella’ campaign on its website and networks to raise awareness among the university community.
The Governing Council of the University of Cadiz has approved the Energy Efficiency Plan that the Vice-Rectorate for Digitalisation and Infrastructures has prepared with the incorporation of measures for the reduction of consumption, through the responsible use of energy, and improvement of energy efficiency in UCA buildings. The Plan has been transferred to the Autonomous Community, to be sent to the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, which is responsible for monitoring and publishing the measures and savings reported by the Public Administrations.
This Plan is based on the contributions of the different Spanish universities to the CRUE-Sustainability Working Group on Environmental Improvements in University Buildings, which aims to detect and specify possible aspects of improvement applicable to university buildings from the point of view of energy efficiency, good environmental performance, sustainability and proper use; as well as on the Plan + Energy Security, approved by the central Government on 22 October 2022, especially the measures proposed for energy saving and efficiency in the Public Sector. For its part, the University of Cadiz makes this commitment clearly visible in the Third Strategic Plan, approved by its Governing Council on 30 June 2021, emphasised through the declaration of Institutional Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and the new Environmental Policy.
To inform and raise awareness among the university community, the UCA has launched an informative campaign, under the slogan Deja tu huella, on its website and social networks.
