The Central Science and Technology Services of the University of Cadiz celebrate their 30th anniversary

The University of Cadiz celebrated this afternoon in the Faculty of Science an event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the launch of its Central Services for Scientific and Technological Research (SC-ICYT). Since its creation in 1992, the UCA has grown and advanced towards increasingly excellent research, becoming a national and international benchmark, and these central services have been a key part of this strategy.

The SC-ICYT was born as a general research support service, where the most sophisticated scientific-technical equipment of the UCA has been centralised, with the aim of optimising its management, facilitating its use and guaranteeing its maintenance. Throughout these 30 years, these central services have integrated up to 10 divisions, among them the Electron Microscopy Division (created in 1988), included in the Map of Singular Scientific and Technological Infrastructures (ICTS) of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. In the last decade, the University of Cadiz, through these central services, has invoiced more than 1.3 million, as more than 5,700 works and 31,400 sessions have been carried out, thanks to the collaborations with more than 300 companies in R&D&I matters.
