Some twenty international students take part in the TEM-UCA summer school on transmission electron microscopy

The Faculty of Science has hosted the school TEM-UCA Summer Workshop Transmission Electron Microscopy of Nanomaterials 2023, organised by the Structure and Chemistry of Nanomaterials research group (FQM-334) and as part of the activities offered by the Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) – ELECMI. During one week, four lectures reviewed the advances in transmission electron microscopy and its application in the characterisation of nanomaterials, in addition to seven practical sessions in which the participants applied the different techniques addressed.

In this 21st edition, 22 students from Algeria, Germany, Lithuania, Morocco, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Lithuania took part. The school was sponsored by the Spanish Microscopy Society, The European Microscopy Society, the Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Microscopia Electrónica y Materiales (IMEYMAT) and the companies Aname, Gatan, Izasa Scientific, Thermo Fisher Scientific.
