Rubem Dantas Trío

Rubem Dantas es originario de Salvador de Bahía, donde comenzó sus estudios de piano, que desembocaron en un interés especial hacia la percusión. Vadinho do Gantois fue el auténtico maestro de Dantas, quien dirigió sus primeros pasos y le convirtió en unos de los percusionistas más importantes de Brasil. En España, en la década de 1970, formó parte del emblemático grupo Dolores, junto a Jorge Pardo y Pedro Ruy Blas. Con ellos recorrió escenarios de todo el mundo. En esa época, durante una gira junto al guitarrista Paco de Lucía, Dantas decidió introducir el cajón peruano en una actuación en directo, lo que le convirtió en el primer músico en utilizar este instrumento en el género flamenco. Desde entonces, el cajón se ha convertido en un elemento imprescindible para cualquier formación flamenca.
