Joan Fort Trío, el saxofonista Vincent Herring y el pianista Juan Galiardo, en Campus Jazz Algeciras
El Servicio de Extensión Universitaria del Vicerrectorado de Sostenibilidad y Cultura de la Universidad de Cádiz y Rizoma Records organizan una nueva cita del Campus Jazz Algeciras, con el patrocinio de  Diputación Provincial de Cádiz y la colaboración de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Algeciras que acogerá el próximo 15 de mayo, a las 19.30 horas. El concierto estará protagonizado por Joan Fort Trío con la intervención especial del saxofonista Vincent Herring y del pianista Juan Galiardo como artista invitado.

Un encuentro de altura entre un tótem del jazz, Vincent Herring, y uno de los representantes más destacados de nuestro jazz en la diáspora, Joan Fort. Residente en Ámsterdam, el guitarrista catalán ha trabajado, entre otros, con Jeremy Pelt, Jordi Rossy, Benjamin Herman, Bill McHenry, Jasper Bloom y Dick Oatts, con quien ha grabado dos discos: “Master St” (2023) y “Forward!” (2024), con el grupo co-liderado The Dam Jawn. En cuanto a Herring, formó parte de los Jazz Messengers de Art Blakey y ha tocado con históricos de la talla de Freddie Hubbard, Lionel Hampton, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton y Nat Adderley, entre otros, además de firmar una destacada carrera en solitario. Ambos coincidirán tras una reciente estancia de Joan Fort en Nueva York, donde tocó con la flor y nata de la ciudad de los rascacielos.

En esta ocasión presentarán los temas del primer trabajo discográfico del trío del guitarrista, “So Far, So Good”.
