El trío del pianista Fred Hersch visita Campus Jazz Puerto Real

Recién señalado por la revista DownBeat como mejor grupo de jazz del mundo, el trío del pianista Fred Hersch protagonizará el cierre del programa Campus Jazz Puerto Real el jueves 31 de octubre de 2019 liderando un combo del que también forman parte el contrabajista John Hébert y el batería Eric McPherson.

 

 

Cada vez que Fred Hersch se sienta al piano es una revelación, un descubrimiento, una confesión y una evolución. Como artista en búsqueda, compositor elocuente, activista extrovertido, modelo de colegas como Brad Mehldau o Ethan Iverson y poseedor de uno de los estilos de piano más personales y expresivos en la música improvisada, Hersch ha tenido una vida singular que lo ha convertido en una de las voces más influyentes y consideradas en el jazz moderno. Con una carrera de más de tres décadas, ha ganado incontables premios y cuenta también con diez nominaciones Grammy, numerosos reconocimientos por parte de las más prestigiosas instituciones y publicaciones del mundo del jazz, hasta el punto de ser señalado por el New Yorker como “un maestro que se especializa en un lirismo sublime y en rozar continuamente el peligro”. Desde su debut como líder en 1984, su duradero trío con  Hébert y McPherson es una de las más cotizadas formaciones del universo jazzístico y ya huele a clásico. Su más reciente álbum “Live in Europe” (2018) lo muestra exultante e imaginativo, lúcido en el manejo tanto de voces como de silencios, dando continuidad a una crónica ubicada siempre en la galería de imprescindibles del jazz internacional

 

El concierto se celebrará en el Teatro Principal de Puerto Real a partir de las 21.00 horas. Las entradas tienen un precio de 10 euros y de 7 euros para la comunidad universitaria y se pueden adquirir en Tickentradas.
