Cierre del Bahía Jazz Festival en El Puerto

El  Servicio de Extensión Universitaria  del Vicerrectorado de Sostenibilidad y Cultura de la Universidad de Cádiz colabora con la 17º edición del Bahía Jazz Festival que, organizado por el Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María, se desarrollará en el Monasterio de la Victoria entre 15 al 17 de julio de 2026.

El festival finaliza este  viernes 17 con la pianista Kris Davis, acompañada por Robert Hurst al contrabajo yJonathan Blakea la batería. Kris Davis es una pianista y compositora canadiense ganadora de un premio Grammy. Ha sido descrita por The New York Times como un referente a la hora de «decidir dónde escuchar jazz una noche determinada». Davis ha publicado 25 discos como líder o colíder y ha colaborado con artistas como Dave Holland, Terri Lyne Carrington, John Zorn, Craig Taborn, Ingrid Laubrock, Julian Lage, Tyshawn Sorey y Esperanza Spalding. Fue nombrada Artista Doris Duke 2021 junto a Wayne Shorter y Danilo Pérez, Pianista del Año por la revista DownBeat en 2022 y 2020, y Pianista y Compositora del Año por la Asociación de Periodistas de Jazz en 2021. Davis es directora asociada del programa de desarrollo creativo del Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice y fundadora de Pyroclastic Records. Kris Davis, además, es artista Steinway.
