Architecture University Office

Welcome to the website of the Architecture University Officeof the University of Cadiz.

The Architecture University Office of the Official College of Architects of Cadiz (COA Cádiz) and the University of Cadiz (UCA), is a collegial collaboration figure, covered by the Regulation UCA/CG03/2016, of 4th May of the External Chairs of the University of Cadiz and other forms of collaboration with companies and institutions. The materialization of the agreement, signed on 17th June 2016, by the Dean of COA Cádiz, Fernando José Mejías Delgado and the Rector of UCA, Mr. Eduardo González Mazo, has given rise to the first UCA University Office which originates from that Regulation.

The Architecture University Office, born from the concern of the COA Cádiz to respond to the needs of training and dissemination of knowledge demanded by the architects in the exercise of their profession, assumes any of the aims, objectives and activities foreseen in numbers 1 (training activities) and 3 (dissemination and social transfer of knowledge activities) of Article 2 of the Regulation UCA/CG03/2016, among which the following main objectives are highlighted:

  • The preferential arrangement of relations between the University of Cadiz and the Official College of Architects of Cadiz, establishing an Annual Program of Formative Activities, based on the Regulation UCA/CG04/2016 of 4th May regulating university teaching and continuous formation of the University of Cadiz, allowing an adequate correspondence between the training imparted, the professional needs, the practical assimilation of the results and their corresponding university accreditation of the same, in order to recycle the knowledge and the necessary continuous training.
  • Promotion and dissemination of the professional, cultural and social activities of the two institutions.

The Academic Direction of the Architecture University Office is exerted jointly; At present, the Directorate of the Office by the Official College of Architects of Cadiz is held by Professor Dr. Albert Cuchi Burgos, and by the University of Cadiz, Professor Dr. Manuel Otero Mateo. The Technical Department of the Architecture University Office, which develops the functions related to the ordinary management of the Office by the Official College of Architects of Cadiz is held by the architect Tomás Carranza Macías.

The Architecture University Office therefore allows UCA to offer degrees in the field of architecture, based at the Superior College of Engineering, in which professional experiences can be shared, and the training plan responds to the needs of the economic sectors where architects and engineers work, reinforcing and consolidating the university accreditation of all those training activities that are included in the Annual Activity Program of the Office.
