Technology Transfer Office

About us

 
Our OTT (OTRI) was created in 1989 as a central administration unit under the direct command of the Vice-Rector for Research, Technological Development and Innovation. Its main task is to disseminate and exploit the research results, making profitable the public investment in research and thus gaining resources from the technology and knowledge transfer. According to this main objective, different agreements will be reached between our research groups and our socio-economic environment for different purposes such as; technical assistance, specialized training, research projects, patent exploitation, licenses or know-how, services requiring a complex scientific infrastructure.

Services for researchers:
 
  • Information on R+D+i financing
  • Promotion and dissemination of their capacities and research results
  • Assessment in contract negotiation and licenses agreement (internal procedures, legislation, budgeting, clauses, etc)
  • Economic and administrative management of contracts
  • Search for entrepreneurial partners for R+D+i proposals
  • Assessment in the elaboration of European projects and other projects with entrepreneurial participation.
  • Assessment in the field of patents and other titles of intellectual property
  • Assessment for the setting up of technology-based enterprises.
 
Service for young PhD holders and PhD students:
 
  • Information and assessment on programmes fostering the assignment of PhD holders and technology experts to enterprises.
  • Information and assessment on the creation of technology-based enterprises.

 

In other words

OTRI renders services leading to facilitate the relationships between the University and the Enterprise and to obtain economic returns for improving the scientific and technical capacity of the research groups.

One of its relevant activities is the elaboration, updating and dissemination of the scientific, technological and humanistic offer of our university, be it human resources or infrastructure (research groups, central services, workshops, labs, technological centers and institutes and specialized units).

The knowledge of our entrepreneurial environment, specially the industrial tissue, its problems and its technological and training needs is a key factor for our task.

 

The main task of the Office is the management of research projects financed by external institutions, be it from the public (Regional, national or EU funds) or the private sector (SMES)
