UCA honours more than 1,500 companies and organizations that have collaborated in the internships of its students 3 May 2017
More than 15,000 students have completed internships in more than 1,500 companies and collaborating organizations over recent academic years. For this reason, the Rector of the University of Cadiz, Eduardo González Mazo, together with the President of the Social Council of UCA, Prudencio Escamilla, the territorial delegate of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment in Cadiz, Gema Pérez, the president of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Province of Cadiz (CEC), Javier Sánchez Rojas, and the Vice-Chancellor of Knowledge Transfer and Technological Innovation of UCA, Javier Pérez, presided over an act of recognition this morning at the Higher College of Engineering, where UCA recognised all those organizations that have participated in the student internship development process with their involvement and commitment from the academic year 2011/12 to 2015/16 (last completed).
With the implementation of the new university degree regulations, internships are included in the different degrees and master’s degree programmes at the University of Cadiz and represent a necessary instrument for the acquisition of the cross-curricular competencies required in the world of work, which makes them an essential part of the training of university students. In order to recognize the “inestimable and disinterested” contribution made by these companies and organizations to the training of UCA students, the Vice-Rectorate for Knowledge Transfer and Technological Innovation has created the titles “Collaborating Company/Organization of UCA” and “Distinguished Collaborating Company/Organization of UCA”.
