The University of Cadiz welcomes 550 foreign students including Erasmus students and visitors for the second semester 15 February 2017
The UCA is once again the Spanish university with the second most Erasmus students from outside the EU and the third highest percentage of international students.
The University of Cadiz has welcomed today the foreign students who have chosen the UCA to carry out the second semester of this academic year. About 550 foreign students, mostly under the Erasmus programme, will study over the next few months in the 15 centres of the four university campuses. In total, between Erasmus (Erasmus K103 and K107) and visitors, about 1,500 students from other countries will study at the UCA in 2016/17. Besides the young people who participate in this mobility call from the European Union, there is a growing number of foreign students coming mainly from Ibero- American nations (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile or Colombia), the United States, from the post-Soviet space (Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) and countries in North Africa (Morocco or Tunisia).
Thus, the UCA is consolidated as the second Spanish university in places granted to Erasmus students from countries outside the European Union within the Erasmus+ programme. For the first time it is number two in the ranking of the financing of these projects and is, in addition, number three in relative number of international students, that is, in percentage in relation to the total number of students. Erasmus students come mainly from Germany, Belgium, Italy or France, although there is also representation from Austria, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania and Sweden.
